Millers Falls

The Millers Falls Company was not the original creator of either the Langdon or Goodell miter boxes. It acquired the Langdon company in 1907, Goodell-Pratt in 1938, and continued to develop and to market these as distinct brands under the Millers Falls name until its own demise in 1982. Millers Falls also provided miter boxes to Sears, Roebuck and Company for sale under its Craftsman brand, and to Proto Tools as well. The ones that they sold to Sears and Proto appear to be identical in every respect to the ones sold under the Millers Falls name.

The “Langdon” and “Langdon Acme” brands were intended to serve the high end of the market, whereas the “All Metal,” “All Steel” and “Greenfield” brands served everyone else. In any case if you find one of these miter boxes in working condition with most or all of its parts you are in for a treat.
