Shipping Crates

Prior to the adoption of corrugated cardboard boxes (it is unclear when this occurred but it is at least after 1938, and may have been sometime in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s if catalog copy is any guide) Millers Falls miter boxes were shipped from the factory in individual wooden crates. General measurements are given where available for those of you who may be interested in making one.

The boxes appear to be made from what we might today call #2 common Eastern White Pine.
